1
Consultation
Individuals undergo a consultation with a
dermatologist or healthcare professional to assess
the
cause and extent of the white spots. The specialist
conducts a thorough examination of the skin
and may perform tests to determine the underlying
condition causing the hypopigmentation.
-
2
Identifying Underlying
Causes
Treatment for white spots depends on the underlying
cause. Common causes include fungal
infections (such as tinea versicolor), autoimmune
conditions (such as vitiligo), or
post-inflammatory changes (resulting from injuries,
burns, or inflammatory skin conditions).
-
3
Targeted Treatment
Approach
Once the underlying cause is identified, a targeted
treatment approach is recommended. This may
include antifungal medications for fungal
infections, topical corticosteroids or calcineurin
inhibitors for inflammatory conditions, phototherapy
or laser treatments for vitiligo, or
combination therapies tailored to individual needs.
-
4
Promoting Re pigmentation
In addition to treating the underlying cause,
therapies aimed at promoting re pigmentation of
the white spots may be recommended. This can include
topical treatments containing
corticosteroids, calcineurin inhibitors, vitamin D
analogs, or phototherapy using narrowband UVB
or excimer laser.

Patient Education
Patients are educated about the importance of
compliance with treatment, sun protection
measures, and realistic expectations regarding the
outcome of treatment. Follow-up appointments
are scheduled to monitor progress and adjust
treatment as needed.
